RHRC
EXHIBITS AT AIAA MEETING IN RENO
Jan.
6-9,
2003 - Rolling Hills Research Corporation
participated in the 41st Aerospace Sciences Meeting of the American Institute of
Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) in Reno, Nevada, this week. RHRC
employees Dr. Michael Kerho and Mr. Dustin Bouch presented research results in two
technical papers.
Mike's paper was entitled "Enhanced
Airfoil Design Incorporating Boundary Layer Mixing Devices." The
paper describes RHRC's successful efforts over the last 3 years to develop
natural laminar flow airfoils with greatly enhanced performance.
Dustin's
paper was entitled "Investigation
of a Hartmann-Sprenger Tube for Passive Heating of Scramjet Injectant Gases."
This work details work conducted at NASA Langley in conjunction with George
Washington University.
RHRC
also displayed the Model 0710
University Desktop Water Tunnel in the AIAA Exhibit hall. The water
tunnel was used to demonstrate the benefits of hands on experimentation for
fluid mechanics students.

Special
thanks to RHRC's friend and supporter, Dr. Abdi Khodadoust, who provided digital
photos from the AIAA meeting. Also, congratulations are in order for Abdi
since he was recently promoted to the position of Aerodynamics Lead for the
Space Launch Initiative at the Boeing Phantom Works. Good luck Abdi!
